I fell and rolled on the trail, I jumped into freezing, freezing, freezing cold water and I had the balance of an old woman. It was a blast! It was a glorious day and with Jason and Becky's help, they ushered Jan, Dennis and I down the hill to experience the glory of nature and for me to boost my adrenaline enough to jump into the unknown!
After a false start of imbalance, I was ready to jump. My feet leave the rock (I did the 4' baby jump), I gave my forward motion some umph and jumped as far out as I could. A breathless second goes by as I am submerged in f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g cold water. My plunge is straight down meeting the space of nothingness. Coming to the surface I could not get to the edge fast enough; I felt I could not have skimmed the surface any faster!
Adrenaline is tucked off Old Lime Creek Road north of Durango, It is a half mile hike with a 350' elevation difference (and that equals steep). It's an 18-foot-tall waterfall thundering into a deep pool. The good news is that you can jump from a height you are comfortable with. With Jasyn's help ("Jump from here") I made a wise and mature decision...the baby height. I can now say... "I've been there...done that".
