In general, moving isn't fun, it's stressful. The weeks leading up to the movers arrival were all about sorting through 43 years of Russ and my life together. I packed boxes, deciding what to take, what to toss and what to give away.
I knew I would be moving from our ADA 'farmhouse' style home to a southwestern, modern decor home. It felt a tad overwhelming to be honest. It has all been a bit daunting, a bit like being caught in a spider web. The more I struggled with trying to decide IF I should move or WHAT I should take, the more I became entangled.
During the last two years, I have created a routine in my day. Moving to a new place, a city no less, has messed with that routine. It is now about finding my way around, meeting people, and learning the ins and outs of Tucson. I am not afraid to get out and explore alone, but it does take effort. From the plants in my yard to Tucson traffic to city amenities to entertainment opportunities - it's a new world!
My immediate challenge is unpacking. I have been in the house for two weeks and have spots of calm, but I still must traverse boxes.
I hope to be able to add an 'after' photo to this post!
