This particular adventure was a treat on two counts. First, obviously, was the hike. It was great to get outside to walk in desert beauty. I have wanted to do that, but my 'house project' has just taken up a great deal of time. Secondly was hanging out with Nan. Life can be funny. I have known Nan for years and we have never hung out. She often said, "call if you'd like to do something", but my world of caregiving was just too all-consuming to include more than the necessary.
Nan has a house here in Tucson as well as Bayfield (Gem Village really) and it was a treat to connect with her. It was a gift to have her show me a hike in my new town/city. I hope by this time next year I will have done many hikes.
