The post is MY GRATEFUL HEART, dated 10/31/18 if you'd like to read it.
In essence, it's a love letter to myself, drawing on the grace and wisdom I witness in aging friends, people with terminal illness and the state of our world. I wrote it to encourage me (and others) to remember that no matter how 'dark' a place you are in, hope can carry you into the light if only you will start small and acknowledge the tiny treasures right in front of you. Often I just 'see' disappointment in my path and I place hope in a deferred state because sometimes it's just easier to make life about the known disappointment or sadness and not have to work hard to find a kernel of hope or goodness.
If you are in the dark today, take a small step and see where it leads.
