Team Emil, Jerry and Heather have been so patient with us. As one can imagine, we have no clue what the future with Parkinson's holds. It is not as though we can build a new home next year to suit a new impairment. We needed to be as proactive as possible for an unknown future. Now there is a daunting task for you!
Here we are three months later and we were issued the Certificate of Occupancy 2 days ago. We passed the electrical inspection, and we have scheduled a move date. I feel as though every sentence needs to be adorned with an exclamation point, satisfying my need to shout!
Our week has been full with 3 house showings, a meeting with our real-estate agent Chris (also queen of patience), packing and work for me. Each time I went to the Estancia house there were projects completed, but each time I was asked questions to clarify my wishes and then didn't have time for photos, so there are only a few this week to actually log the phenomenal amount of work that was accomplished.
At times there could be up to 6 or 7 trucks parked around the property. At times there might be 10+ guys there. As you can imagine LOTS was accomplished... here is a partial list (and for anyone who knows me I love lists!)
- cupboard hardware installed
- barn doors hung, door hardware installed and final paint
- front and back doors got final paint
- bi-fold closet door hardware installed
- doorbell installed
- house numbers installed
- shower fixtures installed in both bathrooms
- hot water heater installed
- all plumbing tested / no leaks
- in-floor heat tested
- insulation installed in crawl space
- more work on solar panels - almost compete
- floors all done
- carpet in guest bedroom installed
- appliances installed and tested
- crawl space cover (such pretty wood design) off to shop to have pull installed
- final garage / bootroom door hung
- ...and I am certain there are an equal number of other jobs completed that weren't noticed or visible to me.
