It may take 10 years to pay off this system, but with each system I have installed, the technology has vastly improved. My new system made a huge leap in my favor. The last two systems took a daily reading from all the panels and used the LOWEST reading to calculate the kw hours generated. This new system has a 'computer' on each panel and the kw are all recorded and added up to equal a whole.
My HOA is fairly particular and there were a few hoops to jump through. No HOA can say no to a solar installation, but they can put 'rules' in place. This HOA takes that seriously. Luckily for me my roof is flat and has 3' parapet walls and everything is hidden except for the panel box which must be located next to the TEP (AZ law, electric company) panel box on the outside of the house. There must be easy access to turn off the system in case of an emergency.
My system has passed the county inspection and I now wait for the electric company inspection. I do not anticipate any complications as the solar company I chose is successful, efficient, well established, and thorough. It will be a go when that inspection is complete.
tsunami of the sun –
radiant sunbeams shine down
day after day after day
i commit
to harvest the power
of radiant sunbeams shining down
the panels go up
the energy collected
i’m inspired
negative energy trumped
by the positive energy of the sun
that sun
sharing her grace
from ninety three million miles away
solar energy is bound to be our future
i embrace it now
my personal connection
to the tsunami of the sun
