My screen saver is all the pictures I have stored on my computer that float across my screen in a random order. I love to see our past float by. With each image I have a sense of joy fill my heart, creating space for memories that can banish the 'uglies'. I have written of this before, but most recently I have been attracted to the easy joy depicted. Smiles emerge when I see myself looking healthy and relaxed.
The original purpose of a screensaver was quite simple: to literally save your screen. That is no longer the case as technology has advanced to the point that monitors no longer 'burn' a stagnant image onto a screen. My screensaver is now a living photo album and I love it. It is entertainment for me when I come back to my computer after being away from it or for folks wandering by. Image upon image showers down history, adventure, love, and family.
It seems like the world lives by the adage "grow old gracefully" and sometimes that just doesn't happen. Life happens, meaning we bend and adjust to circumstances. That may mean you glance at your screen saver and sigh with an "awwww, that was so much fun!"
Here is some of our past fun that makes my morning mirror image not so difficult to take: i.e. not that aging feeling, but strong and healthy.
