But now, being seniors, it feels so delicious to have the security of a paid off home. Carrying that bridge mortgage was beginning to hurt! Our Bayfield home was our love. It was a creative expression of who we were. But with Russ' movement issues and his steady inability to do the work that 10 acres requires, the decision was made for us. We are beyond grateful that the folks that bought it seem to be ready to carry that creativity forward.
With joy for us and joy for the new owners, we all signed the paper work on July 31 transferring our peaceable kingdom on to Diane and Robert. May they feel the peace.
We have transitioned and feel the peace here in our 'detached apartment', a single level house, completely ADA, in the midst of a small and wonderful development. Who would have thought I would have a neighbor for the first time since leaving home in 1970.
Hurray.
