Picnics are informal for me. If you Google 'picnic', all the results are for phenomenal experiences with an idyllic setting & interesting view, special food, the perfect serving pieces and drinks. That is not me! My triumph is simplicity, nature, a chair or rock to sit on, good people and food. The combination of community and togetherness, inspired and filled with joy.
Seriously, have you been to a bad picnic? Picnics are not a thing on my to-do list. They make my day and the moment, they become the place I want to be. Many folks picnic infrequently; we are weekly. We have picnicked at almost every park in Durango. When we go into town and know we will be there at lunch hour, we bring our food. Of course this is partially because I am cheap, but more because there will be no crowds, no wait time, and no noise. It is a time just for us with fresh air, quiet togetherness, food that is wholesome and adventures to new places.
