I keep thinking that the 'death business' is complete and along comes another way that I have to bear my broken heart and find the strength to move forward. Our house is my peace. This house has been our sanctuary of hope since the first shovel of dirt was scooped out of the ground. Now it continues to wrap me in peace, IF I focus on it's richness. I love to read the house blessing which reminds me how we felt as we saw it go from dirt to stud walls to love surrounding us.
As Christ’s light scatters the darkness in our lives, it comes into the home to bless those who dwell herein

From Psalm 24:3-4
By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with precious and pleasant riches.
No matter your religious beliefs, no matter your focus in life, I believe we all want a place to call home, a place we feel safe to lay our head down at night and wake to the day in the morning. Russ and I wanted no different. One piece of his life he was proud of was always being able to provide housing for his family. Now it was his turn to provide housing for his own needs. Even the hurt of leaving our wonderful home in the woods did not deter his hope to simplify life for both of us as his disease progressed. I am grateful beyond your imagining....
