Thoughts rain through my mind as I try to make sense of what might appear as senseless. But of course that's not true at all. If you follow the subliminal thread through my last year of posts, you will see I am a firm believer of born/live/die, or in other words the journey of life. I don't believe there is any way to beat that path. And really? We were born to die, but we were created to live. During our journey we are entrusted with the purpose of perpetuating life, of making our world a better place.
But life comes and goes and we don't get to choose the timing. That is why 'choosing kindness' is so important. In order to leave this world a better place we can't avoid 'choosing kindness'. We need to embrace the thinking that our own life matters and then share that with someone else... one person or thousands, it doesn't matter as long as you share.
Today we are left with yet another choice, sharing platitudes with the family or action. That is a bit tricky as Mark was the one we knew. We know little of other family members. But that hasn't stopped his neighbors from choosing to reach out with food, cards, concern or offered help.
This is the day the Lord has made.... use the time wisely.
