L-O-V-E cheese. I find others do too, so when we have any kind of a pot luck at least one thing I make has the magic ingredient.
Preparing the won ton wrappers is the only part that really requires attention. The rest is just time.
SAUSAGE STARS
2 cups (1 lb.) cooked crumbled sausage
Once cooked, I use my hands to make the pieces as tiny as I can. I just rub a piece between my
thumb and forefinger.
1 1/2 cups grated Sharp Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
I normally grate my own cheese, but for this I take the speed route and buy it already grated (small)
1 cup prepared Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
I never buy dressing (I make it) so this is a really jiffy.
1 can (2.5oz) chopped ripe olives
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
The smaller the ingredients are chopped, the easier it is to stuff the cups
1 pkg. won ton wrappers
Find these in the produce section
veggie spray
I sometimes leave the wrappers square and other times use a circle cutter.
Preheat oven to 350.
- Cook sausage, blot and crumble
- Spray mini muffin tins (you can use large but these are easier to eat in one bite
- Press one wrapper into each cup
- Spray cups
- Bake 5 minutes or until golden brown
- Remove cups from tin and place on a cookie sheet
- Combine all other ingredients in a bowl
- Fill with sausage mixture
I use a small pointed silver teaspoon and gently press mixture into the folds - Bake 5 minutes or until bubbly
Now you can have a happy dance because everyone will be happy!
