Lars works hard ALL the time. He is a man of huge determination and strength. As a former champion bull rider he carries within him an unknown calm quality (for most mortals that is) that most certainly saved him here thank God! Calm is a majestic gift. It shadows Lars with the uncanny ability that allows him to exude calm which in turn wraps itself around others and tames their contentiousness.
Read on.
Lars' daughters suggested that perhaps he was working too hard and they encouraged him to go fishing. Guess they were persuasive because off he went to a friend's ranch. He was having a problem with his reel so he sat on the tailgate of his truck to do a few adjustments. While working he felt the truck shift, a thumping on the side. Peering over his shoulder he saw a large black cow, but being on a ranch cows are inevitable and he decided to ignore the guy. The thumping continued, he continued to ignore.
Next thing he knew, while still fiddling with his reel, a VERY LARGE black bear rounded the corner of the truck and put his mouth around Lars' bare leg! They had a long, silent conversation with their eyes.
Lars had put this bit on FaceBook with no details. Following is our text communication:
Linda:
An awful lot of people asking me questions! Could you either call or tell all on Facebook please. Break skin? Crawl in truck? Scream? Wet pants? Remain calm and cool as usual?
Lars:
All happened fast. He was very gentle and huge! It actually was otherworldly. Seemed kind of a message. Life has been so very hard lately, made me realize that nature is a good way to be done. Never nervous, never really afraid, never even moved. Seemed right. I swear he looked me in the eye and I got it. Actually a very magical experience.
Linda:
I told people you were one with nature and probably were 'one' with the guy. I guess I spoke the truth!
Lars:
I think there might have been a bigger message. I'm good with the message.
Lars has MS and we had some private life and death conversation here...
Lars:
We had a moment, we stared at each other when he was on my leg, (somewhere in his texts he said it was like a wet slobbery dog playing) I told him to stop and go away. He did and I will never forget our eye contact. Amazing, and I know it wasn't by accident. I think he left because I wasn't afraid. Never had to fight a bear to death. I don't think the odds were with me, I didn't even have a knife.
Linda:
Tears and hugs my friend. So happy you are still here!!!!
Lars:
Actually I feel so amazing since it happened.
Note: Quite obviously Lars did not have time to take a photo and when I googled 'bear on leg', the photos were all bloody and gruesome. There was nothing magical or spiritual in any of the options. So just use your imagination...
