We had a lovely evening tonight with neighbors. Between developments there are a couple of groups who gather for potlucks. Tonight we were 'gifted' to be a part of the Bear Cub group. We live 'across the tracks' (so to speak) but are so pleased to be included in their gatherings.
Getting out is not as easy as it once was and each and every one of these folks made us feel loved… why would anyone want to live elsewhere?
Melanie and Clark, our hosts, have a home HIGH above, rather IN the sky line. It looks out over the vast vista of southern Colorado, a mere touch of a hand and an arm length away! The view is large, full of summer. Two ladies (interlopers? not really…gardening friends of Melanie) from Durango could not believe as we looked out over the 'hood' from the deck that we considered our neighbors to be close or that we even had a sense of 'neighborly'. In fact, as we looked out we saw only two houses far in the distance. All the rest was lush forest in the foreground blending into SW panorama. You see and feel neighbors they ask? ABSOLUTELY!
