It was happenstance, sort of, that we ended up in this wonderful place. When we retired we spent a winter in Sun Valley, Idaho. The winter was blissful, but completely unaffordable for 'real life'. Having discovered there are places in the US that 'grow sun' we decided to explore. We did research on weather. We collated our top 10 needs list and discovered we needed a college town, good library, bakery, and gym, a ski area, small size city or big size town, some cultural opportunities, friendly, a natural foods store and of course an affordable home. We found it all here thanks to our friends Pam and Peter.
On one western tour we stopped to see Pam and Peter in Park City, Utah. We then ventured with them to Durango to visit their son Jude and family. And that's how we ended up with the ever available view like above. We loved Durango, we loved the availability of vast differences in topography and we loved the weather! We loved the people.
A friend is moving with her family to Bulgaria. They will be involved with an International school there. She and I are of like minds; when you make a huge move and know no one it really isn't overwhelming if you are doing it with your best friend! I am so happy to be here to see all this beauty, wet or not...
