The snow plow came by at around 4:15am and by the time I got outside there was already another 3" in the road. At 9am it is still coming down...sigh. I guess it will be a good packing day.
The gift of this development is neighbors, friends. As I took a break, I walked around and so many people were out. So many were helping others. So many made this silent world beautiful.
snow -
in dawn's early light
4th day in a row
the silence of crystals falling
layering my surroundings
the scene beckons
the quiet sooths
the visual hugs
this place has held my laughter
and my tears
it is home
today
it is a snowy home
as i paused to rest
from the seemingly endless shoveling
i stop
close my eyes
listen
i make it
take it
know it’s mine
trust
know the decision to move
will allow all parts of me to show up
standing in the downy white
i take time to refocus
i clean the lens of my heart
i wipe away the dust of the past
i trust
i sense
the peace of a snowy day
I have hope and gratitude
of my years in colorado
i will truly
miss this world
it is far easier to speak of the weather
than the storm in my life
with shovel in hand
in the silence
i already miss it a little louder.
